Idol Densetsu Eriko, like Idol Angel Welcome Yoko is a series about a young girl who becomes an idol sensation. Unlike Yoko however, Eriko does not go looking to become a huge idol. This shoujo anime takes a decidedly unusual twist in that the father of Eriko is killed in the first episode, and her mother is left in a coma. Eriko must cope with this tragic loss while at the same time fending off the evil schemes of this manager fellow. Eriko's father was involved in the opening of this underwater auditorium where this other idol singer was set to perform at its opening ceremonies. Unfortunately there is yet another accident, and the structure starts to fall apart! This is a lot of dramatic suspense and serious danger for a little kids shoujo series!

Eriko is a cute blond girl who seems to have a pretty good singing voice and until the death of her father, lived in the lap of luxury. I haven't seen very much of this series yet, but it looks very interesting! There is a narrator who speaks over the action at some points, which seems to me to add a very sinister tone to the show. Among the supporting characters is a very interesting girl who rides a motorcycle. I am trying to figure out who she is =)

The look of all the characters in the series is similar to those previous magical girl shows. Eriko has 2 cute little dogs as her pets, both of which she carries around with her in her purse. As far as I can tell, they do not speak. Eriko also has a couple of mass-marketable items, one of them being a cute little keyboard necklace. She also has a microphone.
