The decision to purchase this manga was very random. Basically, it was like the only new thing my local Kinokuniya had at the time ^_^ The girl on the cover looked interesting, and I liked the title. The heroine has an aggressive look that seemed unusual, and I wondered what she was doing with all those expensive brand-name bags, considering she is in a school uniform. How could she afford all that? Hmm! And what’s with flashing her underwear! What kind of girl is she??

Ami-chan is your typical teenager. She goes to school, dreams of a cool boyfriend someday, and is very fashion-brand conscious. She loves stuff made by Prada, Gucci, Cartier, etc. She has had her eye on this really nice handbag that has been in this store window for a while. However, when she finally goes to buy it, she is devastated to find it gone! Not only is the bag gone, but it is being purchased by someone else right at that very moment! Oh! To be bought out by someone else! How horrible! Ami-chan really really wants that bag, so she goes into the store to talk to the person who bought it, but unfortunately, she trips, revealing that she is wearing underwear with little strawberries on it. (hmm I think that is another shoujo manga plot-device- girls tripping and revealing cute panties. Kind of scary!) Anyway, the person who is buying the bag is a fairly cute guy who doesn’t pay much attention to Ami-chan. He leaves the store with the bag.

Desperate to somehow own that bag, Ami follows him out of the store and to a nearby cafe, where he is having lunch with a business colleague. She listens in on their conversation and discovers that the guy’s name is Tatara-sensei, and he is a novelist. Apparently he is in need of someone to be his assistant and to type up his writing into a word processor. Hearing this, Ami-chan jumps up and volunteers her services as a typist in exchange for that handbag Tatara-sensei just bought. Ami-chan is thrilled that she will get the handbag she wants, but she then she discovers exactly what kind of novels Tatara-sensei writes. Yes, you guessed it- he writes erotic fiction! Hahah! Poor Ami-chan hasn’t even kissed a guy before, so reading Tatara-sensei’s material is quite a shock! And so the story begins….

is not cute like a shoujo manga heroine.
