Site News and Updates!
By Emily • Aug 31st, 2007 • Category: FeaturesIt seems kind of funny creating this page for news and update info when the entire site is a blog, but I needed a spot that is separate from the manga summary entries to let people know about any news or info regarding this site. So, here it is! ^_^
November 19, 2008: I am still trying to get all of the Authors and Manga titles to show up in the navigation dropdown boxes. It is slow-going. I have to manually re-add all of them back in there. In other news, I have added yet another Common Shoujo Manga Plot Device to that list, it is down at the bottom of that page.
November 11, 2008: I have somehow managed, once again, to almost completely zap this site’s author/title/plot theme navigation. I am not sure what happened, but the drop-down menus for them aren’t working. So please be patient while I try to get this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks =_=
August 31, 2008: I am still making little changes here and there on the site. It’s nice to have a long weekend to work on this :D Today I added a section of shoujo manga wallpapers that I have grabbed from the official Kodansha, Shueisha, Shogakukan, and Hakusensa sites. I will keep them up as long as people don’t abuse this and kill my bandwidth. I don’t have the energy to upload them to a free hosting site at the moment, but I may upload packs of them later. I am kind of tired now :)
August 30, 2008: OOF! I went and changed the layout of the site, adapting a new theme that had a more interesting presentation. What do you think? Hopefully things aren’t too messed up. I am still tweaking it.
December 31, 2007: Naturally, after I upgrade wordpress to 2.3.1 and go through the usual pain and chaos of a wordpress update a few days ago, wordpress goes and releases version 2.3.2. Soooooo, once again I updated the wordpress version. I am noticing some serious strangeness when you view the summaries sorted by date. I will work on getting that page looking normal again. *sigh* I have also kicked off my 10th anniversary celebration by beginning work on fixing the shoujo manga phonebooks section. That section should change a lot this coming year, so keep an eye on it!
December 22, 2007: Okay, I think I have fixed the weirdness in the database. This weekend I will be adding some more manga summaries finally. Yay! Merry Christmas! :D
December 21, 2007 : Why do I keep doing this to myself?? Once again, I was going to update with some new summaries when I stupidly decided to update my version of WordPRess again, and once AGAIN managed to mess things up. Now I am getting some database error related to the post categories. *sigh* There will be an error at the top of the screen if you try to look at a page sorted by theme (Romance, Student-teacher, etc). I am beginning to think maybe I should just stop using wordpress and find something else, because every time I update, all hell breaks loose. Anyway, I will try to fix it and get those new summaries posted ASAP. Thanks!
August 10, 2007: I was trying to update my version of WordPress, and I have managed to mangle the site. I have to go to work now, and don’t have time to fix it at the moment, but I will work on it tonight and this weekend -_-;;; I lost some stuff in the right column and the authors listing… I will try to fix it! Argh!
August 6, 2007: I am making more progress on the Author listing, yay! Hmm… does anyone actually read this news and info page? I somehow doubt it :P Anyway, I just realized that 2008 will mark the 10-year anniversary of this site (man, that kind of depresses me. I am so old now… ^_^;) and I was trying to think of something I could do to celebrate it. One thought was to try to do a new manga summary every single day next year. That would probably kill me though @_@ 365 manga summaries?! ~_~ If you have any suggestions about what I can do, please sign my guestbook ^_^ Thanks!

October 23, 2006: Arg, it’s difficult to write summaries when 99% of my manga is packed up in storage o.O
September 29, 2006: Heh, I forgot to mention that the redesign is complete, and this new version is now officially open. Whoops ^_^ Anyway, I am trying to add at least 1 summary a week, but I am not always successful. At any rate, I am updating more often now than I used to. Woo hoo!
August 25, 2006: I have been playing around with the format of the archives and the theme/genre list. I now have one section for the summaries sorted by theme (each theme category lists the entries with the newest entry on top) and I have a separate page where you can sort the summaries by date added and by title. I really like how that turned out. I think the page is basically done and ready for new entries, so I may jump the gun on my sept 1 relauch date and start adding new summaries right away. Redesigning this site HAS fired up my motivation to update more often! :D I am still seeking opinions about the new layout. Please sign the guestbook and let me know what you think!
August 20, 2006: I have finished adding all the manga summaries from the old page, and am now making some minor cosmetic and structural changes here and there.
August 16, 2006: I am working on the redesign of this site. My goal is to have all of my existing summaries posted here by the end of August, so that on September 1st I can start adding new summaries. I figure it will be easier for people to sort the new summaries from the old if I start the new stuff in a new month!
Emily is not cute like a shoujo manga heroine.
