Sadistic Boy

Wow, this is really a trend in shoujo manga these days — the Sadistic Boy! I guess it’s an offshoot of the classic ‘good girls like bad boys’ trope. In this case, the girls keep falling for guys who never grew out of that childish phase of being mean to the girls they like. They enjoy seeing the girl’s crying face. Usually these guys have a soft and tender side underneath all that mean teasing, and these silly shoujo heroines put up with a lot of grief in order to find it.
