Comet

Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san is the story of an alien princess. Comet is the princess of the Harmonica galaxy, a kingdom out in space that is surrounded by countless tiny floating worlds. Comet enjoys using her telescope to examine these tiny worlds. She loves the stars. The Harmonica galaxy is one of three neighboring galaxies (Harmonica, Castanet, Tamborine). At the beginning of the series, Comet is to attend a ball, where the prince of the neighboring Tamborine Galaxy will decide between Comet and the princess of the Castanet galaxy, Meteor. One of the two girls will be his bride.

Things don’t go as planned though, when the prince fails to show up at the ball. It seems he has fled the galaxy and is somewhere on Earth. Comet’s parents decide to send Comet to Earth in order to find the prince and bring him back. Comet is happy to do this because she grew up on stories her mom told her of her stay on Earth and how fun it was. Comet wants to see if Earth is really as wonderful as her mother claims. Armed with a baton that can gather and use star power and a magical pendant that houses her talking pet Rababou, Comet heads to Earth to find her Prince.

CometOn Earth she makes friends with two toddler twins, and ends up living with their family as a home stay student. On Earth Comet has many adventures and meets many people on her quest to find the prince. She also faces some competition. Meteor has also come to Earth in search of the prince. Meteor has known Comet since they were children, and does not like her. Meteor is very vain, bossy, and mean. She wants the prince for herself!

Comet has many of the usual traits of a magical girl. She is cute, friendly, and helpful. For once, she is not really a clumsy girl, and is actually pretty athletic and self-reliant, thanks to her magic. She is good with children. She has a transformation sequence where she changes from her Earth clothes to her magical pink outfit. Her talking pet is there to guide her and help her track the prince. This show is very cute!
