Creamy Mami is about the adventures of a young girl (about 9 or 10 years old), named Morisawa Yuu. Yuu is a very cheerful and active girl who likes to skate all over her hometown of Creamy-ga-Oka on her roller skates. Actually, she has her roller skates, and this really cool motorized unicycle thing. She holds on to its handlebars, and turns it on. It speeds her through the town. I want one!

One night Yuu hears some strange sounds and sees a space ship fly through the sky. The ship kinda resembles an Ark made out of starlight. She follows the ship on her skates until she reaches a racetrack, where the space ship hovers overhead. Yuu goes into the spaceship, where she meets a strange little man named PinoPino. PinoPino, who is about 4 inches tall and kinda cute, gives Yuu a magical wand.

It seems that the magic wand, along with some magic words, will transform Yuu into a beautiful 16 year old girl. However, as it will later be for Hime-chan in her Magical Girl show, Yuu’s magic is constrained by a time limit. Her magic wand will work for only one year, after which she will no longer be able to transform. As PinoPino departs in his spaceship, he leaves behind two very cute pets named Poji and Nega to watch over Yuu.

Shortly after receiving the wand, Yuu transforms into her alter-ego and wanders around the city. She eventually ends up in front of a TV studio, where she is spotted by a frantic looking man. He runs up to her and begs her to sing a concert for him, as the star of the show has not arrived yet. Flustered and not really sure what is going on, Yuu finds herself out on stage in front of a large crowd. She begins to introduce herself to them but then stops short as she realizes she is now someone else, and can’t use her real name. So, Yuu says the first thing that pops into her head= the name of the Crepe shop that her parents own and run: Creamy Crepes. Actually, after she says “Creamy”, she stops again and finishes with “Mami”. Stuck with this new name, Creamy Mami smiles at the crowd and starts to sing. Miraculously, her magic wand helps her out with her singing. The TV people, watching this new girl idol-sensation, know a good thing when they see one, and as quick as that, a Star is born!

Toshyo, Yuu's friend

Creamy Mami becomes an idol sensation. The show follows the story of Yuu as she tries to handle being her normal self, and also the star Creamy Mami. Mami has to do a lot of public appearances and concerts. Also, Yuu has to deal with Toshio, a boy she grew up with whom she really likes. Toshio has a crush on Creamy Mami, and doesn’t seem to notice Yuu! Yuu’s other friends also make things more interesting in this cute and bouncy mid 1980’s Studio Pierrot Anime show.

Keep an eye out for the animated ‘Minky Momo vs. Creamy Mami‘ anime short. It’s hilarious!

Also, look for ‘Majoko Club: Alien from Zone X’. This anime features all the Studio Pierrot girls, Creamy Mami, Magical Emi, Pelsia, and Pastel Yumi joining together to fight the dreaded Alien from Zone X. It is very funny. There is another Majoko Club’ anime with only Magical Emi, Creamy Mami, and Pelsia, in which they are eating some food that keeps transforming them into their magical girl alter egos, causing some funny moments. I am not sure of the formal title of this one.
